The new Bivouac – designed by LEAPFactory – is made with a modular composite sandwich shell and is internally organized in four rooms (entrance, dining room, 2 dormitories with 12 beds) for a total of thirty square meters and 1980 kilos of weight.
The electricity is produced by photovoltaic units with latest generation accumulators and allows internal lighting and the use of electric hotplates for cooking. It is energy self-sufficient and, thanks to the presence of an on-board computer connected to the internet via satellite, the Gervasutti Bivouac is constantly connected with the outside world, detects the operating status of the electrical system and sends the acquired data.

EQUIPMENT TO HAVE WHEN VISITING
The necessary equipment varies depending on the level of snow on the course. In general it is necessary:

– Low harness
– Piccozza
– Crampons
– 2 snap-hook carabiners
– descender (bucket / plate / reverse)
– 3m long kevlar cord diameter 5mm
– 3m long cord diameter 7-8 mm or a 2m pre-sewn tape (or: lanyard or daisy chain)
– High mountain boots and clothing
– Helmet
– Backpack

The bivouac is equipped with a 230 V electrical socket to which small
devices can be connected . The socket is timed. The socket, like the plate, is considered a non-vital user, so it can only be used if the battery is over 50% charge. This is to preserve the energy for the most important users.

Do not connect equipment that absorbs more than 2 kW (about 9 A). If you connect a device with greater consumption, to protect the battery the electrical socket is disabled. The socket is automatically re-enabled after a certain time.

The bivouac is equipped with a CO2 sensor and an extractor for
automatically changing the air , with a heat exchanger to avoid losing heat outside.

In case of low outdoor temperatures or storms, if you want to change the air without having to open the portholes, you can manually operate the extractor by pressing button C until the LED E lights up Once this operation has been carried out, the extractor will start and the L light will come on.

The bivouac is equipped with an on-board computer. The computer manages the electrical system of the bivouac, is
connected to the internet and allows the compilation of the shelter book, the consultation of reports, weather forecasts, etc.
– The computer must ALWAYS remain lit. DO NOT TURN OFF THE COMPUTER.

The main door is always open.
On exit, please lock the secondary door and leave the key in the keyhole.
Check that all the windows are closed.
Please do not use boots and crampons inside the shelter, but the wonderful imitations of the crocks that you will find inside. Please leave the Bivouac CLEAN
