At an altitude of 4362 metres this is one of the last places you can stop on the way to tackle the summit of Mont Blanc and the surrounding peaks. More of a small bivvy hut than an actual refuge the facilities are basic and it is meant for emergency use rather than a planned nights stop, mainly for climbers in trouble or taking on longer routes in the area.

On the West Ridge of Mont-Blanc, at the foot of the Lower Bosse, near the Vallot observatory and at 2:00 from the summit of Mont Blanc. Emergency bivouac shelter only.

L’Abri VALLOT est un lieu de secours pour les alpinistes en difficulté (notamment ceux sortant des voies sud du Mont-Blanc). Il n’est pas destiné à l’hébergement régulier des alpinistes candidats au Mont-Blanc. Merci de respecter ces dispositions.
